Sarah Ann Landy

Bryan G. McPherson

Sarah Ann Landy (nee Mattle) - Born on March 23, 1938, in Atlantic City, New Jersey and passed away on Saturday March 8, 2025, in Bryn Mawr, PA. Sarah a was a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for her three children. She enjoyed spending time with her family at her mountain getaway at the Promised Land in the Pocon

Sarah Ann Landy (nee Mattle) - Born on March 23, 1938, in Atlantic City, New Jersey and passed away on Saturday March 8, 2025, in Bryn Mawr, PA. Sarah a was a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for her three children. She enjoyed spending time with her family at her mountain getaway at the Promised Land in the Poconos.  Sarah was married to Joe Landy who is a past president of the UHFS.  She was the go-to person who organized the all the meals at the UHFS meetings.  You could say she was the "Den Mother of the UHFS".  Sarah was a sweet, thoughtful, and caring person who will be forever missed by the members.

Bryan G. McPherson

 Bryan G. McPherson of Warwick, NY, (formerly of Williston Park, NY) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years old. Born in New York, NY, August 5, 1954, he was the son of the late Duncan and Rose (née Ritz) McPherson. Bryan was a retired FDNY firefighter. He was a volunteer for the Williston Park Fire Depart

 Bryan G. McPherson of Warwick, NY, (formerly of Williston Park, NY) passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years old. Born in New York, NY, August 5, 1954, he was the son of the late Duncan and Rose (née Ritz) McPherson. Bryan was a retired FDNY firefighter. He was a volunteer for the Williston Park Fire Department prior to becoming FDNY, and Warwick Fire Department, Raymond Hose Co. following retirement. He was also a member of the FDNY DART Team.  Bryan was a Spring Melt vendor for a number of years.

Thomas Hess

Thomas Hess, a Life member of the UHFS passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Reading Hospital.  Thomas was also a  member of the Chester County Fireman's Association and Fire Chiefs Association, the PA Forest 

Fire Museum Association and the Reading  Area Firefighters Museum. 

Vonnie Anderson

Dorothy Y. “Vonnie” Anderson, age 83, of Claymont, DE passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024.  Dorothy, a great supporter of the UHFS,  was married to  Frank Anderson who was the corresponding secretary and editor of the UHFS newsletter, "The Register".


David Clayton Sr.

David Clayton Sr.

David Charles Clayton, Sr.,  a Life member of the UHFS,  passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, at the age of 91.  Mr. Clayton served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army, including time as a firefighter while stationed in Japan. His dedication to service extended to his community, where he was a volunteer firefighter with the Huntingdon Valley Fire Company for 50+ years, as well as a member of the Bryn Athyn Ambulance Company for many years.
